  • Farhan Akhtar is an Indian film actor, director, producer, screenwriter, playback singer and television host and is known for his work in movies like Dil Chahta Hai (2001, as a director), Lakshya (2004, as a director), Don (2006, producer & director), Rock On!! (2008; actor, producer & Dialogue writer), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011, actor & producer), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), Wazir (2016), Dil Dhadakne Do (2016, actor & co-producer) and more.
  • Farhan Akhtar began his career as an assistant director in movie Lamhe (1991).
  • He co-owns a production company named Excel Entertainment together with Ritesh Sidhwani.
  • Farhan made his directorial debut with Dil Chahta Hai (2001), made his debut as an actor in Rock On!! (2008), and made his debut as a producer in Don (2006).

  • Farhan Akhtar was born on 9 January 1974 to screenwriters Javed Akhtar and honey Irani in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
  • Farhan Akhtar is of Zoroastrian Irani origin from his mother’s side.
  • His parents got divorced when he was little and his father married his  stepmother Shabana Azmi in 1983.
  • His alma mater was Maneckji Cooper School in Mumbai and he further went to study for a law degree from HR college in Mumbai but was dismissed from the  college in the second year.
